Improve your practice visibility with local SEO

Local search engine optimization varies from traditional SEO, as it is geared towards having your practice appear in local-specific searches. In order to make the most of local SEO benefits, dentists should start by creating a full Google Business Profile that includes specialty services. David Wank, DMD and CEO of Short Hills Design, shares more actionable steps to help maximize your practice’s visibility in local online searches. (Dentaltown)

Researchers hopeful about new treatment for Sjögren’s

A medication currently used to treat rheumatoid arthritis called Baricitinib (also known as Olumiant) appears to be curbing the symptoms of Sjögren’s disease, according to a new study. Sjögren’s disease causes dry eyes and mouth, fatigue, rashes and painful joints and muscles — but new research shows that this existing drug might be able to treat this autoimmune disorder, too. “If you can’t produce saliva, it may hamper your speech and your ability to process food, increasing your risk for developing cavities, and it overall worsens one’s health,” according to Rodrigo Lacruz, researcher and professor of molecular pathobiology at NYU College of Dentistry(U.S. News)
